Office of the Chancellor
The Chancellor is primarily responsible for the collection, protection, and maintenance of the records of the Diocese. This office ensures the proper care of the diocesan archives and oversees the processing of requests for historical records.
Sacramental Records
Most sacramental records (including baptism, marriage, and confirmation certificates) are maintained and managed directly at the parish level.
If the parish is unable to locate the record or has closed, the Chancellor can provide additional support and guidance as needed.
Archives & Diocesan Data
Formal requests for access to the diocesan archives or for specific historical information about the Diocese should be directed to the Chancellor.
Additionally, the Chancellor facilitates the data collection and preparation of all official statistical reports for the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings.
