The Office of Catholic Education exists to advance the evangelizing mission of the Church by fostering excellence in Catholic schools and parish faith formation throughout the Diocese. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the rich tradition of the Roman Catholic Church, the department supports the lifelong formation of children, youth, and adults as disciples who know, love, and serve God.

The office provides leadership, guidance, and support for all diocesan Catholic educational ministries, integrating school-based education and parish faith formation into a unified, mission-driven approach. Through collaboration with the Bishop, pastors, principals, catechetical leaders, clergy, religious, and lay faithful, the department promotes vibrant Catholic identity, strong academic achievement, and faithful catechesis across the Diocese.

You did not graduate faith formation with your reception of Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. In fact, that milestone was neither the beginning, nor the end of any kind. Rather, the reception of these sacraments was a supply stop of sorts along a lifelong journey of faith. Just because one is fully initiated into the Church does not mean they are finished with learning about the Church and her head, Jesus Christ. That task is one which lasts a lifetime.

Approved Catechetical Curriculum

One of the functions of a bishop is to be the lead catechist within a diocese. To insure that quality, authentic Catholic instruction is being provided, Bishop Fleming affirms the list of approved catechetical curriculum which are acceptable for use within the Diocese. Any program not found on the list below must be suspended immediately, unless previously granted special permission.
